EX-POST FACTO APPROVAL FROM DEC

The Distance Education Council (DEC), New Delhi has accorded ex-post facto approval for 108 programmes (order No.F.No.DEC/AU/KKD/TN/4425/2008, dated 24.11.2009) offered through the distance mode of Alagappa University, Karaikudi, with effect from 1995 to the academic year were approved by the relevant authorities of the University as started by DEC. The approval was given to the University based on the recommendation of the Expert Committee, the Distance Education Council, New Delhi.

RECOGNITION FROM DEC

Consequent to the Inspection visit made by an Expert Team (Joint Action Committee) comprising of UGC-AICTE-DEC to the Alagappa University, the DEC has accorded recognition to various programmes offering through Distance mode vide F.No.DEC/Recog/2010/2289 dated 04.08.2010. Further this recognition is valid for a period of three years till Academic year 2012 - 2013.

RECOGNITION FROM DEB

Alagappa University is accredited with A+ Grade by NAAC (CGPA:3.64) in the Third Cycle & Graded as Category – I University by MHRD-UGC. By Virtue of holding Category-I status from MHRD, New Delhi the Distance Education programmes of Alagappa University is recognized by DEB – UGC, New Delhi as per the Gazette notification F. No 1-8-2017(CPP-II) dated 12.02.2018 by the Government of India.

UGC Recognition Letter F.No. 74-2/2018 (DEB-I) November 2019 - Updated list of Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) under Category - I as per UGC ( Categorisation of University (Only) for grant of Graded Autonomy) Regulation, 2018 entitled to offer programmes through Open and Distance Learning (ODL) Mode and important information for stakeholders in supersession to this office letter of even number dated 26.03.2019.

Out of 25 Universities listed eligible to offer Open and Distance Learning (ODL) programme, Alagappa University is in the list (Serial Number 21).
